Installation Guide

How to install Video Library Generator on your BigCommerce store, configure your library domain, and verify everything is working. The full walkthrough takes about ten minutes.

Before You Begin

You'll need:

• An active BigCommerce store (any plan)
• Administrator access to that store
• A subdomain or path where your video library will live (for example, videos.yourstore.com)

Step 1: Install from the BigCommerce App Marketplace

Open the BigCommerce App Marketplace from your store admin, search for "Video Library Generator," and click Install. Review the requested permissions, then approve.

You'll be redirected back to the app once authorization completes. On the first load, we register your store, generate a 16-character standalone access passcode, and create your administrator record automatically.

Step 2: Set Your Library Domain

In the app, open Settings and enter the domain where your library will be served. This is the only required field to start generating.

The domain should:

• Be a real subdomain or path you control
• Point at our hosting via the DNS instructions provided after install
• Be entered as the bare hostname only — no protocol, no trailing slash

Step 3: Library Generation

Once a domain is set, our pipeline scans your BigCommerce catalog, queues videos for matching, and begins building your library. This is fully automatic — nothing to schedule or trigger.

Depending on catalog size, initial generation typically completes within a few hours. Queued task counts and recent activity appear on the Dashboard in real time.

Step 4: Background Sync

After the initial build, scheduled background jobs keep your library in sync with your catalog. New videos, edited product information, and freshly published content all flow through automatically. You don't need to take any action to keep the library current.

Step 5: Publish and Embed

Your library is served live at the domain you configured. You can:

• Browse the library at the URL directly
• Link to specific category or video pages from your storefront
• Embed an iframe of any page on your existing site

The library also publishes a sitemap, RSS feed, and robots.txt automatically. Verify them under the Analysis section of the app.

Standalone Access (Optional)

Beyond the embedded BigCommerce control panel, you can sign in to Video Library Generator as a standalone web app. Use your registered email address and the 16-character passcode shown in Settings. This is useful for delegating limited access to team members.

To retrieve your passcode at any time, open Settings and click Send to my email.

Uninstalling

Remove Video Library Generator from the BigCommerce app management page. On uninstall we delete your store record, settings, and access tokens within minutes. Library content already published stays accessible until you take down the DNS record.
